Lavaca Elementary School (Lavaca School District) – Success Story

2019 - 2020   The Lavaca Elementary school utilized ISEP grant funds to purchase Fitness Trackers for the P.E. classes.

2018-2019  The Lavaca elementary school utilized ISEP grant funds to purchase much needed updated nutrition education materials and resources.

Along with the new resources and materials, monthly activities including kitchen tours, taste testings, healthy snacking ideas, newsletters, family cooking events and contests, displays, and inside recess activities are being planned for next year.

Planned partnerships with the local grocery store, the family and consumer science teacher, health teacher, and Community Health Nurse Specialist will help to increase and expand the nutrition education for students across the district.
